Logan: I just finished reading your post in response to D.J. Drummond's "The Laws of Grace" at WizBangBlog. I agree wholeheartedly with what you wrote, but I wanted to contact you to offer you a small bit of hope for your son.
A friend of mine was pregnant with her first child, a girl. She developed pre-eclampsia and despite following her OB's strict bedrest orders, her daughter was born 3 months early.
Emma will celebrate her 2nd birthday this April, and if you saw her you would never know she had been early, let alone 3 months early. She was tiny at first, and spent 8 weeks in the hospital, but now she is a happy, healthy, incredibly smart little girl.
My cousin and his wife also had a son who was born 6 weeks early. Connor is a little on the small side, but perfectly normal, happy, healthy and curious. They, too, were unsure what the future held for their son, but I honestly think they feel that everything worked out as best they dared to hope during his time in the NICU.
I hope this gives you and your wife some small hope, and that your prayers for your boy are rewarded with his well-being and his coming home!
